Beloved 40 - Week 4

GROWING IN human and spiritual virtue

As we get closer to the finish line of our Lenten journey, we hope to have cultivated a sense of spiritual renewal in our lives as a result of the prayer, fasting and alms-giving we have implemented during this time. As part of the Beloved 40 Commitments, the final area that we chose to focus on was Human Growth.

Examples of two commitments in this area were to -

  1. Get up after your first alarm in the morning

  2. Get out of your house and move your body twice a week (e.g. gym, a walk, swim, etc.)

Why do we opt to grow in human virtue as a part of Lent? ... because spiritual virtue has to be built firstly on human virtue.

For this 4th week of Lent, we'd like to share with you some resources to help you grow in virtue - applicable to equally both the spiritual and human aspects of your life. As we draw ever nearer to the Easter season, we might like to contemplate the future God has in store for us.

Ask yourself -

What would you like to continue to grow in in your spiritual life over the coming months?

Is there any commitment/s that you’d like to keep up and include in your daily ‘plan of life’ going forward?

A reminder of how you might like to start and end your prayer -

Introductory Prayer

My Lord and my God, I firmly believe that you are here; that you see me, that your hear me. I adore you with profound reverence; I ask you for pardon for my sins, and the grace to make this time of prayer fruitful. My Mother Immaculate, Saint Joseph my father and lord, my guardian angel, intercede for me.

Closing Prayer

I thank you, my God, for the good resolutions, affections and inspirations that you have communicated to me in this meditation. I ask you for help to put them into effect. My Mother Immaculate, Saint Joseph my father and lord, my guardian angel, intercede for me.
